Check out the reviews from CD Baby for Ordinary Glory...
Truly extraordinary pop singer-songwriter.

I’ve
been a big fan of David Morgan since I first saw him in Neshama
Carlebach’s band—then realized I’d seen him before in Peter
Himmelman’s. So I couldn’t be happier with “Ordinary Glory,” since it
features his collaborations with both while establishing himself as a
truly extraordinary pop singer-songwriter in his own right—right
alongside his glorious preceding accomplishments as a jazz musician.

Well produced, and sounding good. It's as if a young Billy Joel did a shot of Squeeze, and then took a bath in Art Garfunkel. Dave paints a picture with words, and is supported by some terrific musicians. This is a wonderful, uplifting CD.

This is a great album from a talented musician. The melodies are contagious and sophisticated. Listen to the melody of Thousand Miles of Wasted Time. No-one writes melodies like that!!! The lyrics will move the soul of anybody out there who experiences the joys and challenges of living.

Crystal clear "pop" melodies infused with jazz riffs will keep your feet tapping as you listen. Morgan's lyrics range from romantic to playful and even in the most somber moments remain optimistic; you can sense a smile behind every word. It's hard to make comparisons here: Is this Randy Newman meets Ellis Marsalis? David Gray playing with Grand Funk Railroad? The album combines genres effortlessly.

This album is heart and soul on a shirt sleeve. Ordinary Glory is no ordinary album. His heartfelt lyrics move you and his addictive melodies groove you. It's an unexpected jazzapopadelicfunk fusion that just makes that moment in life feel all right...just what music is supposed to do. Congrats David!!!

Ordinary Glory is spectacular!!!! David Morgan's talent as an incredible pianist was expected but the soulful lyrics and THAT voice of his were both an amazing and pleasant surprise. It's the type of CD you want to listen to over and over again...and I do.

Rarely is a premiere pop album extraordinary - But David Morgan's 'Ordinary Glory' is right up there with the Best of them - Elton's Tumbleweed Connection, Paul's Band on the Run, and you know who's Sweet Baby James. Many people can sing a tune, others know how to write them, and others are great players. In David Morgan all 3 are wrapped into 1 Outstanding artist and performer. Every tune tells a story that hooks you from the start. 'It's Love' alone is worth the price of admission to his musical world. This is a Five Star CD that you won't stop playing!

This album contains a broad range of songs, and they're all great. The beats and melodies of the songs are excellent. You'll find yourself wanting to listen to them over and over again. David Morgan's talent as a pianist is obvious to any listener, and his vocals add a unique dimension to his songs. I highly recommend this album, and eagerly await his next!

Listening to his songs, you will get the sense that he's totally connected to his music; he sings his lyrics with conviction in away that makes you feel like there is something important going on. The melodies are memorable; a few times listening through the songs and you'll be humming them unconsciously. There are a variety of moods represented on this album which I think demonstrates his range and competence as a singer, song writer and piano player. Even people with the most discerning musical tastes will appreciate it.

some years ago when i was supplementing my income as a playwright by writing occasional liner notes for jazz companies i wrote a review of an album by a well known jazz pianist who had recorded an album of current broadway songs. the pianist rejected my notes as being condescending because i kept emphasizing how good a jazz player he was even though some of the tunes on the album were banal. no such review applies here. yes, david is a fabulous jazz pianist, but here he emerges also as a singer and a songwriter reminiscent of michael franks and john lennon at their best. -- julian barry
It’s tough to pigeonhole David Morgan. He is a musician who is truly in love with music and finds many avenues to express it. As a pianist, songwriter, singer, producer, arranger and educator, his goals are to always bring this love, skill and dedication to every project he is a part of.
